Welcome

Greetings from Sandhills School! We are sincerely glad you have taken the time to learn about who we are and how we impact young lives. Sandhills is a special place—a school where students are known as individuals, appreciated for who they are, taught to be capable and successful academically, challenged to reach their fullest potential, charged to care for others, and valued for their unique gifts. We are one of only 19 accredited Orton Gillingham schools in the United States, and our teacher/student ratio is 3:1. We are highly specialized, and because of our small class size, our expert faculty, our evidence based approach, and our commitment to our students, we have great success in helping students develop the skills and strategies they need for school and in life.

Students often describe Sandhills as the place they feel at home and the school that teaches them “how to be smart.” We, of course, know our students come to us with strong intelligence; however, our approach allows us to equip each of our students with the tools necessary to be academically successful in college, graduate school, and beyond.

Our beautiful 20-acre campus boasts a pond, a state-of-the-art gymnasium with an art and theater wing, a cardio weight room, nature trails, a treehouse, a fire pit, and a beautiful outdoor classroom with the added feature of a stone fireplace. The beauty of our surroundings and the variety of learning spaces we enjoy enhance a program designed uniquely for Sandhills students.

We would love to show you first hand the incredible things we are doing on a daily basis. Please call or e-mail the admissions office to schedule a personal tour for you and your child. Our doors are always open!

Warmest regards,
