Our Mission

Sandhills students develop the tools and strategies they need to unlock their potential in the classroom. Through Orton-Gillingham instruction, classroom accommodations, and assistive technology our students overcome their learning differences and rediscover their joy of learning.

Students with dyslexia have a number of gifts and talents, but not every dyslexic student is the same. We strive to provide a multitude of extracurricular opportunities that pique all of our students interests! Every Sandhills Buck has the opportunity to participate in a wide array of activities ranging from Basketball to Theater. Extracurricular activities round out our college preparatory curriculum and give our students amazing opportunities to find success on the stage or an athletic field.

Whether a student is at Sandhills for one year or eleven, they are always a Buck! It is our goal that every Buck is able to gain the confidence, master the tools and participate in the opportunities they need to realize their potential. We want every Buck to find success in an academic setting, but also learn the skills they need to advocate for themselves in their everyday life. 

Sandhills graduates have found success at four year colleges & universities, as well as trade schools & apprenticeships. The strong academic background and skills learned at Sandhills School is what our alumni attribute to their professional and personal success.
