Journey to Sandhills
Sandy spent 29 years in the insurance industry before making the leap to education, inspired by her experience homeschooling her son, who is dyslexic. She quickly discovered a passion for teaching and a deep appreciation for how differently wired students learn. After years of substitute teaching and home education, she joined Sandhills and immediately felt at home.
“Because of my experience with my son, I know that students with dyslexia and other learning differences are smart and can succeed. I believe in each and every one of these students.”
Why I Love about Teaching at Sandhills
Sandy values the small class sizes and the ability to give students personalized attention. She especially enjoys getting to know each child, building confidence in their math skills, and watching their growth over time.
“I love the strong sense of community here. Everyone is supportive and focused on helping students succeed.”
