What I Value About the Sandhills Community

“Sandhills is student-centered and always does what is best for students.”

Jessica values the collaboration, professional growth, and friendships she’s found at Sandhills. She’s especially energized by opportunities to team-teach and create new possibilities in science instruction. For Jessica, every day at Sandhills is a chance to make an authentic difference.

Why I Teach at Sandhills

“I can make a true difference in their lives that is meaningful.”

Jessica joined Sandhills after two years in public school, ready for something different—something more impactful. After connecting with the school’s mission and teaching a sample lesson, she knew she had found the right fit.

Now, she brings that same sense of purpose into the classroom every day, especially when leading hands-on science activities like kinesthetic morphology or exploring topics like “Living or Nonliving?” She loves the freedom to design lessons that are meaningful, engaging, and tailored to her students' unique strengths.

Favorite School Tradition

  • Jessica loves the overnight field trips that build community and strengthen bonds between students and teachers. She recently led the Class of 2025 to the Everglades, an unforgettable experience filled with team-building, laughter, and learning. She also enjoys Field Day, where she gets to chat with parents, participate alongside students, and soak in the joy of the day.
