Journey to Sandhills
“I love our students, the sense of community here, the small classes, and OG of course!”
Becky’s teaching career has taken her from classrooms in China and Mongolia, where she taught English to middle and high school students, to roles in the U.S. as a bilingual aide and ESL teacher. The Sandhills School’s personalized approach and close-knit community align with her passion for fostering growth and confidence in every student.
A Passion for Sandhills Students
“I enjoy working with students with dyslexia because I can connect with each one and watch their growth firsthand.”
Working with students with language-based learning differences has deepened Becky’s appreciation for the Sandhills community. She’s constantly inspired by her students' resilience and the school’s commitment to each child’s potential.
Favorite School Tradition
- Back-to-School Greetings: Becky’s favorite part of the year is greeting students and families as they arrive on the first day, a joyful moment that sets the tone for an exciting year ahead.
Life Outside of School
Becky enjoys spending her free time at the beach, finding relaxation by the ocean. In Columbia, you might spot her at the Riverbanks Zoo, enjoying the Latino Fair, or visiting Riverside Park. And if you’re in the mood for sushi, you might catch her at Inakaya!
