Why I love Sandhills

“I love coming to work each day and enjoy working with students individually and in small groups.”

After 31 years in public education, Allison was ready for a change—one that allowed more creative freedom to incorporate hands-on projects and kinesthetic learning. At Sandhills, she found the opportunity to make learning both meaningful and enjoyable, and she thrives in the supportive, student-centered environment.

Why I Enjoy Working with Students with Dyslexia

“I can quickly see growth in the students. Creativity is abundant in the minds of students at Sandhills.”

Allison is inspired by her students’ progress and unique perspectives. The small group setting allows her to witness and support growth in real time, helping students tap into their potential.

Favorite School Tradition

  • Founders Day: Allison enjoys the school spirit and energy that Founders Day brings. Watching students take part in activities that celebrate the school’s legacy is a highlight of the year.

Campus Life Involvement

Allison helps lead the Walking Club and enjoys contributing to student life beyond the classroom.

Life Outside of School

In her free time, Allison enjoys visiting family, working in the yard, watching sports, shopping, and going out to eat. She’s a big fan of Carolina football and loves cheering on the Gamecocks. One of her favorite local spots to grab a meal is El Jimador Mexican Restaurant.
