The generosity of the Sandhills family and Midlands community not only fills in the operating budget where tuition does not cover, but it also goes straight back into providing programs of excellence for our students.
On behalf of our board, faculty and students, we thank you for investing in us.
SMART Board Interactive Whiteboards
Sandhills School launched a campaign in the fall of 2006 to install SMART Boards in every classroom. By August of 2007, this dream became a reality; we are thrilled to have nine cutting-edge SMART Boards and laptops in our classrooms. SMART Boards are now integrated daily in the classrooms, engaging our students in an exciting, multi-sensory learning experience.
The SMART Board initiative was generously funded by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Central Carolina Community Foundation, two Sandhills families and an anonymous donor.
For more information on the SMART Board technology, please visit www.smarttech.com.

The computer lab at Sandhills School, equipped with ten Dell computers, was donated by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina in the summer of 2005.
With funding from the Dollar General Foundation and the Parent Council at Sandhills School, the computer lab is now equipped with Read&Write 8.1 GOLD software by textHELP. This assistive technology program is a tool for students (and adults) who have difficulty with reading and/or writing.
Scholarships are given to students who would benefit from the education Sandhills gives, but who cannot attend due to financial constraints. Sandhills is grateful to BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, the Academy of Columbia and other friends of the school who have generously funded the scholarship program.
The Board of Trustees of Sandhills School is pleased to announce the creation of the Kaki Manning Zeigler Scholarship Fund. This fund has been established to honor Kaki Zeigler, past Chairman of the Board and devoted former Sandhills parent, for her years of tireless dedication to Sandhills School.
Kaki’s leadership and stewardship have been instrumental in helping Sandhills School become the thriving institution it is today. The Scholarship Fund was created without Kaki’s knowledge and was a surprise as it was unveiled to her at the beginning of November.
On behalf of the Board, faculty and staff, students and Kaki Zeigler, a heartfelt thank you goes to the family and friends who have helped raise over $40,000 for scholarships for students to attend Sandhills School.

The Sandhills community is grateful for all of her contributions.
The Joan B. Hathaway Faculty Scholarship Fund has been established to honor her years of devoted service to Sandhills School. This fund will provide scholarships for Sandhills faculty members to attend workshops and conferences.

This fund is in honor and memory of Mary Hyatt Ford Nolan. We hope this scholarship fund will be a vehicle to enable children with learning challenges to succeed and follow in Hyatt's footsteps - as a responsible environmental steward of our world and a compassionate and contributing member of society.
