Middle School

Becoming
Independent
Learners

The Sandhills middle school program continues to build upon the foundations put in place during lower school. There is an emphasis on language training and math courses to provide a sound basis for students who learn differently. Our multi-sensory approach continues into higher level classes and students are challenged to more abstract thinking.

Middle school encourages students to become more independent learners. Teachers provide a classroom experience that eliminates anxiety and focuses positive reinforcement. Students continue to receive an individualized education while becoming well versed in independent learning.

“Before Sandills, I cried so many nights because of my growing concern for my son’s future. I couldn’t find a school that understood what he needed or even took the time to help me figure out how to help him. As a mom, it is such a wonderful feeling knowing that he is in an environment with people who care just as much as I do about him succeeding… not only in school but in life.”

“After discovering that both out children have a dyslexic learning style, we sought to find the place that would give them the best opportunity for academic success. Our family joined the Sandhills Family last fall. What we have observed in the past year is that the key to Sandhills’ success is its PEOPLE. The faculty and staff are extraordinarily dedicated to helping students thrive. The small class size means a truly individualized educational plan for each child. The people of Sandhills School go to great lengths to ensure that they are meeting the needs of the child and the family by strengthening existing talents and developing skills in areas of weakness.”
